Do I get back the money I paid for the jewellery when I purchased it?
Retail price of the jewellery consist of metal value, retail value of any stones, designing and making charges, taxes and stores mark up on the jewellery (this can be up to 10 times or more for known designer brands). We pay for the “melt value” of your jewellery – that is, the value of the actual amount of precious metals contained in the items. Craftsmanship and non precious metal content are not a considered when assessing value of your gold, silver or Platinum. On the same note, Insurance Valuations are typically 25% higher than the current retail value on the articles at the time of valuation. Therefore these again are not considered for assessment.
